Bill Oakes

Bill Oakes Bill Oakes, 1944-2005, was an artist extraordinaire...a man who was larger than life and a lover of life and all of its gifts. He started out as a graphic artist doing illustrations and was even an accredited courthouse artist for the Watergate trials. One of his works appeared on the cover of the Washington Post. Bill's works appeared in magazines such as Time, National Geographic, Reader's Digest and Yankee. An accomplished representational watercolorist Bill eventually evolved to his present dramatic experimentalist abstract style...the Museum of Science did a major show of his work. A passionate painter, sculptor and photographer, Bill did it all. A true artists' artist...he is missed.
